Pre and Post Roll Setup

***At this time, Pre and Post Roll Options are only available to customers using the AgileLINK powered by CineSend Video On Demand Streaming Platform.***

IMPORTANT NOTE: IF YOU MAKE CHANGES TO THE INCLUSIONS, ORDER, OR SETTINGS OF A PRE/POST ROLL AFTER THE ROLL IS SET UP AND SALES HAVE OCCURRED, THOSE CHANGES WILL NOT BE TRANSLATED AUTOMATICALLY TO CUSTOMERS WITH PREEXISTING ORDERS. THOSE ORDERS WILL NEED TO HAVE THE PRINT FLAG VOIDED IN ORDER TO ALLOW THE SYSTEM TO REGENERATE A NEW STREAMING LINK FOR THEM TO USE.

The AgileLINK platform allows you to include additional content before and/or after your main video content. This feature is optional, but it does allow you to introduce short commercials, shorts, or other content to the viewer at your discretion. Below we will show you how to set up Pre and Post Roll Content on an already created AgileLINK show:

  1. After creating your AgileLINK Show, navigate to where your shorts should be built (This is probably either in a Shorts folder or a Shorts icon in the same folder as your AgileLINK Show). Short_Icon.jpg
  2. Once in the Shorts, you can either import your Shorts or create them manually.
  3. Once you have created your Shorts, right-click the first short and select Properties. Short_Properties.jpg
  4. Here you will find a new tab called Streaming PropertiesShort_Streaming_Properties.jpg
    1. Select AgileLINK and click the mceclip0.png button.
    2. If you need a distributor to upload the video, you can give them access to the upload page by inputting the distributor's contact email and selecting the Send button.Agile_LINK_Email.jpg
    3. If you have the video you are wanting to upload, you can copy the link and navigate to it within a browser window.
    4. Click the "Upload From Computer" button and select your Film.Agile_Link_Upload_Page.jpg
    5. Keep the Tab/Window open until the page gives you a green checkmark indicating the upload is finished.
    6. Once you see the green checkmark, you can close the Tab/Window.
    7. In Agile you will now see the phrase "Status: Requested" beside the Upload button. This will update with "Encoding" while the video is Encoding and will have "Published" when the Short is ready to view.
  5. Even though the Short may not be finished encoding, you can still add it as Pre or Post Roll of a film.
  6. Navigate back to your Show, right-click it, and select Properties.Right_Click_Show.jpg
  7. Select the Included Shorts tab.Included_Shorts_Tab.jpgYou will notice the headers here have changed from what they used to be. They should now read as Name, External Name, Hidden, Pre Roll (Before Main Content), and Skippable.

  1. Click the green plus sign. In the new window that appears, navigate to the Folder where your Shorts are housed.Add_Shorts.jpg
  2. In the lower part of the window, you can select the AgileLINK Shorts and add them.
    • **THOUGH IT IS POSSIBLE TO ADD OTHER TYPES OF SHORTS TO THE PRE/POST ROLL, ONLY AgileLINK STREAMING TYPE SHORTS WILL BE INCLUDED AS PRE/POST ROLL***
  3. Once you have added all the Shorts you would like to include, you can designate what will be Pre or Post Roll, whether or not a customer can skip the content, and whether or not the content is listed on the Info page for the event under the "Included Shorts" header. All of these settings can be set independently of each other.
    1. To designate whether a Short is Pre or Post Roll, check or un-check the box in the "Pre Roll (Before Main Content)" column. All shorts with this box checked will play before the Main Content. All shorts without it checked will appear after the Main Content.Pre_Roll_Content.jpg
      • Shorts will play in the order they appear in the list. To modify this order, use the blue Up and Down arrows.
      • Pre Roll Items will ALWAYS appear above the Main Content Line Item and Post Roll Content will ALWAYS appear below the Main Content Line Item.Moving_Shorts.jpg
    2. To designate whether a customer can skip included content, you will need to check or un-check the box in the "Skippable" column. Checking this switch will require the customer to watch the specified content in its entirety before being able to move on to the next item in the list. Skippable.jpg
    3. To have an item hidden from the Show Info page, you will need to check the box in the "Hidden" column. A good example of this usage would be if you wished to have an advertisement Pre Roll on a Show but didn't want it to appear in the Included Shorts content list.Hidden.jpg
  4. Once you have your Pre and Post Roll Content in the right order, click Apply and OK. You have now set up the Pre and Post Roll Content for this AgileLINK show.
