Vimeo Details

For hosting your own streamed events, a Vimeo plan of Vimeo Plus or higher is required. For livestreams, Vimeo Premium is required.

It is also possible to use videos hosted in someone else's Vimeo account as long as their privacy and embed settings allow it.

Getting the StreamingID from Vimeo

When integrating with Vimeo, you will need to get the StreamingID to input into the Custom Property at the Show level of the event in Agile.  This number value is found either in the bar at the top of the browser or above the video preview.

Recommended Vimeo Video Settings

  • Privacy Settings

    • Set Who can comment on your videos to No one.

Setting Account Upload Defaults

Note: The following instructions are for setting the global upload defaults of the Vimeo account. This will apply the privacy settings to any new videos that are uploaded to that account. It will not affect any content that has already been uploaded to the account. If you want to stream content that was already uploaded to your Vimeo account, then you will need to adjust the individual settings of each video as shown above.

First, you will need to adjust the settings of embedded videos.

  1. Under your account picture, click the Edit Profile link.

  3. Name the preset "Embed Settings".
  4. Beneath the sample video on this page is the Player Preferences area. You may choose the Title setting and whether to check the box beside "Show fullscreen button." However, the following settings must be set exactly as described so that videos play correctly and securely:

    • Show play bar and Volume control - Check these boxes.
    • Do not check the boxes next to the following items. If you do, it will allow videos to be shared outside of purchase:
      • Show like button
      • Show Watch Later button
      • Show Share button
      • Show Embed button
  5. In the After Video drop-down list, select Set to Thumbnail. This keeps videos from showing other videos in the account after the video finishes playing.
  6. Click Save to save the embed preset settings.

  7. In the gray Settings block on the left side of the screen, select Videos and Upload defaults. On the Upload defaults page, set the following settings.

    • For Who can watch your videos?, choose Hide from vimeo.com. This will keep your videos from displaying on Vimeo pages at large.
    • Set Who can comment on your videos to No one.
    • Set Where can your videos be embedded? to Only sites I choose and add agileticketing.net, agiletix.com, agiletix.net, and (if applicable) your organization's custom domain.
    • Save whenever the page requests when changing these settings.

* Special Note(s) about Vimeo:

  1. If you intend to use a StreamingID provided by a Vimeo Account Holder other than yourself, for example a distributor, you should make sure they either do not restrict the Domains where it can be embeded or that they add the domains of Agile's ticketing pages to the allowed domains as indicated above.
